Flies in His Eyes is a literary web-based magazine focusing on poems and short flash fiction pieces. Fiction pieces can be anywhere from a paragraph to five pages long. Poems can be a maximum of one page long. We enjoy and welcome a variety of styles and genres, and particularly enjoy the absurd.
The literary magazine will be published three times annually, with the deadline for submitting to the fall issue being August 5th. The magazine will be available as a file on our website for free.
To submit, email us at [email protected]. In the subject line write SUBMISSION. The piece that you are submitting must be in the content of the email, not as an attachment. If it is an attachment we will not open it.
We are now accepting submissions for photography for the fall issue. Photos are the only files we accept as attachments on emails. Go to our photography archive for more submission guidelines.
We may be expanding into video pieces as well but will not be considering them for this winter issue. If your video piece is accepted it will be featured on our "video magazine" on the website. The videos can be five minutes maximum and of an absurd nature. Creativity and humor are both liked, but the piece can be either darker or neutral if it still has a nice strange creative vibe to it. WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING VIDEO SUBMISSIONS.
We unfortunately cannot pay you for your pieces. But we also won't charge you a dime for submission or publication.
If you are nervous or unsure about submitting your work because you are not sure it is what we are looking for, DON'T! We are just beginning and it is very likely that you can make it into our first issue, and we guarantee your piece will definitely be read and considered swiftly. Flies in His Eyes Magazine will not leave you hanging, as best we can.
